Peugeot 208 GTI Limited Edition-

To celebrate Peugeot's returning of the GTI name to the hot-hatch market, the automaker has announced a limited edition.  Only 54 Limited Editon 208 GTI's will be built.  The Limited Edition is distinguished by a flag motif underneath the grille, 17-inch wheels, and red brake calipers.  It has a 1.6L turbo four making 200HP, developed with BMW.  This means it goes from 0-62 in 6.8 seconds.




Audi Unveils A3 E-Tron-

The A3 Sportback will get a plug-in hybrid version to be unveiled at Geneva.  It will have a 150HP turbo four mated to a 100HP electric motor.  The electric motor has been limited to protect the 6-speed dual clutch transmission.  The A3 e-tron can go from 0-62 in 7.6 seconds and on to 138MPH.  Not bad for a hybrid.
The e-tron features little differences between the A3 Sportback, other than a different grille, a hidden exhaust pipe and 19-inch wheels, although those will likely disappear.





Volkswagen Finished XL1-

VW's plan to build a car that can go 100 kilometers on one liter of fuel may be met by the XL1.  They have announced specifications before the XL1's official debut at Geneva.
The XL1 has a 47HP two-cylinder turbodiesel paired with a 27HP electric motor all mated to a 7-speed DCT transmission.  The XL1 goes from 0-62 in 12.7 seconds, bu thats not the point.  This car is supposed to be economical.  It can go 100km using just 0.9 liters of fuel, and can go 31 miles using electric power only.  It has a drag coefficient of 0.189, better than a Prius or the GM EV1.




VW Shows Golf GTD-

The diesel version of the GTI has been revealed ahead of its debut at Geneva.  It will be the most powerful GTD ever, with its 2.0L turbo four making 181HP and 280 ft-lb of torque, sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual.  The GTD gets 56 mpg combined.  With a DSG gearbox that figure drops to 50mpg.  VW says it will go from 0-62 in 7.5 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 143 MPH.  The GTD has LED rear lights and an LED license plate illumination distinguishing it from other seventh-gen Golfs.  It also feature dual chrome exhaust pipes, 17-inch alloy wheels, a diffuser and a roof spoiler.  The interior features a GTD gear shift, GTD trim and GTD instrument cluster.  The Golf GTD will be officially revealed at the Geneva Motor Show with a starting price of 29,350 euros.




Lamborghini Urus to have a 670HP Hybrid?-

It has been rumoured that Lamborghini will offer a 670HP hybrid version of its upcoming Urus SUV.  The Urus won't likely have an engine from one of Lamborghini's supercars, like the LM002 of the 1980s.  Lamborghini could pair a twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor to produce over 600HP compared to the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid's 380.
